I went to the dog park again. But this time, I referenced some drawings of dogs that Disney has done, so I could see how they tackled the anatomy of the legs. I feel like I am getting a better handle on it and I hope it is clear to you too... (gulp)
Also, this past weekend, I went to Comicon and had a great time. I stopped for a while to draw some people and here's what came of it.
Back at work, I went out to draw at lunch and then came back and did some studies of some real cartoons.
Finally, tonight I was fortunate enough to see John Lasseter honor Hayao Miyazaki at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Since Danny is on the board of directors, he and I got to go to the reception beforehand which was a fantastic experience. While I was waiting to meet Miyazaki, a crazy thing happened. John Lasseter approached him to introduce Matt Groening (Simpsons) to Miyazaki. A sudden photo-op appeared and I was right on it.
Afterwards, Miyazaki was kind enough to let me thank him and sign my ticket.
Just another night in California...
